Vote counting in Philadelphia is expected to take longer than initially anticipated after election officials approve a rule aimed at catching double voting.
On Tuesday, a three member elections board voted to adopt poll book reconciliation, a process used to catch mail-in votes cast by people who also voted in-person.
The process is reported to be labor intensive and time consuming. It will likely to slow down the counting of ballots in the heavily Democrat leaning area.
This comes as more than 3,000 ballots in the city are at risk of rejection due to errors such as missing dates, signatures or missing envelopes.
